YOU \& MATHS A piece of rope is cut into two pieces: one piece is $\frac{3}{2}$ the length of the second piece. Represent the total length of the rope with a monomial with an integer coefficient
a = 3/2 b,
b = 2/2;
a = 3/2;
b + 3/2 b = x
5/2 b = x
5 b = 2x;
b = 2/5 x
a = 3/2 * 2/5 x = 3/5 x
a + b = x;
2/5 x + 3/5 x = 5/5 x;
lunghezza corda = 5x;
b = 5x * 2/5 = 2x;
a = 5x * 3/5 = 3x.
Indichiamo con 2x il pezzo più corto.
Quello più lungo è quindi:
(3/2)* 2x = 3x
La somma risulta essere 3x + 2x = 5x
3x/2+2x/2 = 5x/2
moltiplicando tutto per 2
3x+2x = 5x
